Pilgrims Bronte is opening soon, and we need you! We’re bringing fresh, healthy, vegetarian food to Sydney’s east and we’re looking for enthusiastic staff to join our team.

The Role

We’re searching for a café manager to become part of the Pilgrims Bronte family! This is a unique opportunity for a people-focused, driven and enthusiastic individual. You’ll be required to organise daily operations and procedures, as well as manage and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service. The role requires lots of interaction with senior management, staff and customers, so a friendly and positive attitude is a must-have, along with previous management experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create a fun, safe and relaxed environment for customers and staff, anticipating customer needs and ensuring effective and friendly service responses
  • Manage all day-to-day operating procedures, including opening/closing, staff rosters, expense and revenue management, and stock control
  • Ensure the café is clean and hygienic, including work areas, tables and equipment and monitor beverage and food preparation to meet food safety standards
  • Manage the team, including training new hires, and create a positive and motivational environment which encourages staff to deliver exceptional service
  • Work with senior management to develop promotional activities, maintain supplier relationships, reduce costs and create efficiencies

  • Friendly, honest, caring and positive approach
  • Previous experience working in hospitality as a manager, team leader or supervisor
  • Proven ability to manage a fast-paced team, stay calm under pressure and bring out the best in others
  • Confidence ensuring consistency across food/beverage service and all aspects of café operation
  • Knowledge of food handling and WHS procedures
  • Rights to work in Australia (no limit on hours)

Hours & Salary

  • Full time (38+ hours) position
  • Weekend availability is mandatory
  • Based in Bronte, Sydney
  • April 2020 start
  • $50,000 – $65,000 p.a. package depending on experience
